Congratulations to Dr. James Yoo — The New Journal of Surgical Research Associate Editor for Gastrointestinal Surgery
We are pleased to announce that James Yoo, MD, has been selected to serve as the new Associate Editor for the Gastrointestinal Surgery section of the Journal of Surgical Research (JSR); he will be joining our current Associate Editors for this section, Dr. Amir Ghaferi and Dr. Jose Trevino.
Dr. Yoo is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine, and Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Yoo has an extensive track record in basic science and clinical research, with funding from NIH. He has served JSR as a member of the editorial board for six years and has served the Association for Academic Surgery as a member of the Leadership Committee and an Institutional Representative. He is also a member of the Society of Asian Academic Surgeons.
Dr. Yoo will be taking over the reins from Dr. Gregory Kennedy, who has served as Associate Editor for the GI section since 2015. We are truly indebted to Dr. Kennedy for his dedicated service to JSR.
