Description: We live in two Americas. One where, when I leave the hospital, my white coat/title does not protect me. While COVID initially brought us all together, it did not take long for Black Americans to be reminded that racism would still overwhelming impact our daily lives. From disparities in COVID-related outcomes, to police murdering Black people. The pandemic only increased the gap between the Two Americas we live in.
I.E. McElroy is a Black female surgeon-activist. Her call to surgery is as much driven by her desire to help people as much as it is by her desire to challenge injustice and prejudice within the medical institution. (Bidding on: Artwork will be printed on high quality photo paper and framed. The artwork measures 8 x 10 inches.)
