Surgical Oncology/HPB Surgery
I am a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist and health services researcher at Indiana University (IU) where I serve as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at IU Health and the Richard Roudebush VA Medical Center. My clinical focus is on hepato-pancreatobiliary, upper GI, and peritoneal surface malignancies. My research utilizes Quality Improvement methodology to evaluate processes of care, systematic healthcare delivery, and surgical/oncologic outcomes followed by implementation science approaches to develop and employ targeted solutions for improvement.
I have greatly benefited from participation in the Association of Academic Surgeons (AAS), including the AAS Fall Courses and multiple ASC meetings, throughout my surgical training of general surgery residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, research fellowship at the Surgical Outcomes and Quality Improvement Center (SOQIC) previously at Northwestern University, and surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I previously served as a Candidate Member representative of the Leadership Committee.
As a young faculty member, I am excited about continued opportunities to engage with the AAS to bolster my own development, while simultaneously advancing the educational and mentorship missions of the AAS.
