Statement
As a young resident, it took a move across the country to find mentors who had similar experiences as me, and it has fostered an incomparable sense of belonging and avenue for growth. Though I have had limited opportunities to attend conferences due to residency duties, I continue to participate in online sessions and will attend ASC this year. I hope to leverage my experiences as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community to guide discourse and planning so that it doesn't take a trans-continental move for others to feel find a community where they can grow as physicians and themselves.
