I am a Panamanian-American surgical oncologist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. I have developed the required skills and experience to contribute in creating enduring AAS materials and assist with the CDC and FSRC courses. I also have special interest in cancer care and outcomes disparities among underserved minorities. Instead of describing these disparities further, my main motivation is action: I have secured institutional, foundational, and state funding for a lay Breast Health Navigator Program in Omaha which combats systemic barriers of breast cancer care to women of ethnic & racial minorities and underserved  communities. 

I am grateful for the AAS mentorship over the years and I look favorably into increasing my involvement with the association. I believe my background and past experiences position me very well to serve in the Leadership or DEI. Thank you for your consideration!
