Colorectal Surgery
University of Alabama at Birmingham
Attending the 2014 AAS Career Development Course impacted me by showcasing leaders in our society, sharing tips/tricks for starting out, and providing a framework for an impactful academic surgery career. It would be a privilege to contribute back to this course and the society through the initiatives of the leadership committee. I have served as Assistant Professor and colorectal surgeon at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for the past three years. My research utilizes implementation science and mixed methods to improve outcomes in patients with hereditary colorectal cancer and patients with a new ostomy. I cherish opportunities to mentor residents and students in surgical research. Please give me your vote!
