The AAS and Academic Surgical Congress have provided me with multiple avenues to grow as an academic clinician beginning as a medical student. Whether it was a platform for presenting my research, networking opportunities to develop research collaborations, or attending the Fall courses, I am grateful for the opportunities provided by the AAS.
I am currently an Assistant Professor at NYU with a growing clinical practice in minimally invasive HPB and gastric pathology as well as a research career focused on surgical innovation in the OR and surgical education. I hope to serve on an AAS committee to leverage my past experience with the AAS and my current position as an academic surgeon to further the Association's mission by focusing on scholarship, leadership, innovation, and inclusion to redefine the landscape of academic surgery and reshape the future of surgical care.
